The company was founded in 1996 and was originally called the Elephant Group, Inc. In 2008 it was re-branded as Saveology.com, and it has since become well known for providing their customers with huge discounts on a variety of products and services. Aside from having some of the best deals, the company also does direct-to-consumer marketing wherein they reach millions of people monthly through the company’s network as well as through e-mail marketing.

Features

Kinds of deals. Unlike other daily deal sites, Saveology offers a wide a variety of products and services to their clients. This is because the company works hand-in-hand with many retailers and service providers all over the country which is why they are able to offer such great deals. This in itself is one of the reasons why Saveology is considered as one of the top daily deal sites.

Areas covered. While Saveology doesn’t offer daily deals to all areas in the country yet, their coverage is quite wide catering to 42 unique markets all over the United States, making them one of the most far-reaching companies offering these deals. Furthermore, the company also offers national deals.

Free registration. Registering to the website doesn’t cost you a thing and the procedure itself is quite simple. You will need to enter the area where you live and then fill out a form that asks you your age, e-mail address, and chosen password. You will then need to complete the registration process by clicking the confirmation link sent to your e-mail address. By doing these simple steps, you will be able to start receiving excellent savings immediately.

Refunds. Currently, Saveology doesn’t give refunds if you change your mind about the deal you’ve purchased. However, the company will give you a refund if the merchant discontinues the service that is being offered in the deal you’ve purchased.

Security. The company ensures that your personal and credit card information are secure by taking all of the necessary steps to protect their client’s privacy.

Incentive programs. Club Saveology is an incentive program that allows their customers to get exclusive savings and services from the company. The company also has an affiliate program that allows their affiliates to earn a potentially unlimited income by promoting their products through websites, social networks, and so on.

Pricing

The amount of savings you receive depends on the company providing the deal. Naturally, some offer high deals and some offer lower ones — do realize, though, that “low” would be around 50%. Until you purchase a deal you don’t have to pay a penny. With deals reaching up to around 90% you can expect to get some excellent services such as salon and spa-visits to vacations to shipped-goods for far lower than you would regularly have to pay.

Conclusion

Saveology is a site to add to your daily deal site list. Offering different deals than their vast competition allows them to stand out and provides reason enough to check them out. You certainly won’t be disappointed. Signing up is easy, just navigate here and submit your email!

The Garmin Forerunner 110 is good for two kinds of runners: those who run on trails ; and those who travel, but still want to run outside rather than on hotel treadmills. In both instances this watch will provide distance information, as well as heart rate and your current pace. The other improvements are that it has reverted to button controls from the Garmin forerunner 405′s controls and implementing a usb cable to record running data on your computer.

For most easy or long runs on trails or the road, the Garmin forerunner 110 is all you need. On track, you know how much each lap is, so if you’re doing intervals, use the stopwatch feature on the watch.

Still, if you set the auto lap function in the Garmin Forerunner 110 at .25 miles, very small amounts of your run is going to be logged inaccurately. Similarly, if you happen to be changing pace lot during a run and want immediate feedback, the watch does give you that. The Garmin Forerunner 110 will give you a quick estimate of what your pace is based on its calculations. There is no such thing as an instant pace calculation, so this is the best it can do.

One complaint: During runs you may lose your connection to the satelites which messes up your mile time. In my experience it would lose connection for about a tenth of a mile and would affect the mile time. The watch will correct itself on the next mile, but it still can be irritating.

Bottom line: the Garmin forerunner 110 gives you a lot of good information. It provides a very simple interface which is nice for the average runner. Garmin fixed a lot of the headaches caused by the 405 which makes this watch a much better buy and hassle free. The Garmin Forerunner 110 can be found at amazon for around $150-$200, which is a steal for what this watch provides.

I’ve read some of the reviews and I’ll point out a couple of recurring topics.

Roku Streaming Player – Content

Out of the box I felt the content was limited. For those expecting to have this device provide insane content for free, out of the box it’s not going to happen.

Yes, there are channels which are free and podcast that provide decent material; however, the device really shines when it is paired with a premium subscription. I subscribed to both Hulu Plus & Netflix which together cost me $16.00 a month. I’m happy paying $16.00 a month putting in perspective that the average premium channel cost $12 to $15 dollars a month.

I subscribe to DirecTV, but with the addition of the Roku streaming player I dropped my plan down to the cheapest option that saved me $12.00 a month. The net difference of $4.00 a month is well worth the value of having access to TV Shows and Movies anytime. If it wasn’t for live sports I’d probably just drop DirecTV all together.

Roku Streaming Player – Connecting

I’ve experienced no issues connecting to my WIFI network and HD TV with HDMI. I have a Linksys dual band 802.11n router which does allow me to connect to the 2.4Ghz frequency. I use my Android phone to scan WIFI networks and channels so that I could choose the WIFI channel with the least interference. I find this helps my connection in general with all my WIFI devices.

Before buying the device make sure to check the specs and your equipment (common sense).

The Roku Streaming Player is very easy to use and navigate. I’ve found the Roku to be easier to use and more responsive compared to what I previous used (PS3).

On a side note, the Roku Streaming Player requires a credit card in the off chance you are going to purchase premium content, but you can protect such purchases with a pin. I understand some don’t like this, but it’s not a problem for me as I don’t anticipate any issues – and if I did my bank is awesome so charges would be reversed.

All in all a great device, but your mileage may vary depending on your internet speed, local network stability, and expectations of content available. I would recommend getting a trail to Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu Plus to see if it has the content you like.

If you are looking to buy the Roku Streaming Player, It is recommend you buy it through amazon due to their incredible customer service and shipping costs.

The company Samsung recently introduced its own new tablet called Galaxy Tab 10.1, a device has a very attractive design and is in high demand and a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review from us. Journalists’ resource liliputing.com made a detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. We in turn have also decided to publish a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review with their complements. For testing was taken Wi-Fi tablet version with 16 GB of memory.

Design

The New 10-inch tablet we saw in our Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review is surprisingly compact for a device with a 10.1-inch display. It measures just 256.6 (g) x 172.9 (W) x 8.6 (T) mm, weight – about 550 grams. This tablet looks very thin, and in general, Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the thinnest 10-inch tablet on the market.

However, you can not fully embrace the tablet arm, as you can do with a Smartphone or a 7-inch device, such as the HTC Flyer. This means that even at low weight for a long time to hold the device to the weight to be not very convenient. Therefore it is better lashed the tablet on your lap or work with him on any surface.

Widescreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels to be very clear and bright. It provides high-quality image from almost any angle, so the device can be used simply putting on the table without any supports. Like most of the displays, the touch tablet screen we saw in our Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review had a glossy finish, which has two potential problems: flashing in the sunlight and fingerprints on the display surface.

Along the edges of the display there is a small fringe. This makes it possible to hold the tablet in his hands without touching the screen. At the top of the edging there is a built-in webcam.

Camera we saw in our Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review is worthy, but do not cause much excitement. The front camera is 2 megapixels, and the rear camera – 3 megapixels. Samsung originally planned to use the camera to 8 megapixels, but in order to make the size decays minimal, it was decided to replace it with a 3-megapixel “eye”. Rear camera has autofocus and LED flash features. Both cameras are good enough for video chat or take pictures and video, but to take pictures with the tablet is still not very convenient.

At the top of the unit there are two or three buttons (depending on how you count). The first button – this button is turned on. The second button is used to adjust the volume. It is a two-position, and consists of two halves. At the top of the device is also a connector for the headset.

The left and right sides of the tablet can be found opening speaker. Due to the location of speakers on the sides of the device, the sound is not distorted if the device put on the table or other surface. Dynamics of the sound loud and clear, even though they do not have enough bass. But from such a tiny speaker and do not expect this. According to the journalist, the tested device, the tablet is convenient for listening to podcasts and radio, the music is better to use an external speaker or headphones, which, incidentally, also are included.

At the bottom of the tablet is a docking connector, which is inserted through a USB-adapter. It can be used for charging or connecting to a computer to copy files. While Google Android 3.1 allows you to easily use the USB-device, such as a keyboard or a mouse for the tablet needs a special adapter, as the Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 does not have a standard USB-port.

As you would expect from an ultra tablet, the device is permanently affixed battery. But such a pattern is observed in most of its competitors. Fortunately, the lithium-polymer battery has a capacity of Galaxy Tab 7000 mAh . It provides about 10 hours on the Internet via Wi-Fi or watching video. If you use resource-intensive applications, it will diminish, and when listening to music with the screen off significantly.

Software – Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 Review

Samsung plans to release a software update that adds a new software version of TouchWiz, which will be optimized for tablets. The user interface will include a new dock application at the bottom of the screen, a new set of widgets, the main screen and the new social center, which combines user data Gmail, as well as accounts Facebook and Twitter.

The software update also brings a new version of the keyboard, as well as service electronic books Reader’s Hub and video service Media Hub. The company will also add support for new Amazon Kindle and Cloud Player, as well as mobile printing software.

At the moment, the tablet comes standard with a version of Android 3.1, which is similar to other versions of the tablets. Touch Wiz user interface will appear only after the upgrade. This is due to the fact that Samsung would like to bring to market a tablet with the latest version of Android in the promised time. The company decided to use a standard operating system interface and Touch Wiz come a little later.

In principle, the software Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is nearly identical to the tablet software Motorola Xoom .

The user interface of the new OS is very convenient. You can click on the application in the upper right corner and open a full list of applications. Also you can place icons or widgets on the desktop and use the toolbar at the bottom of the screen for navigation.

Nevertheless, some points in the Honeycomb look completely untested. For example, to access the menu system in the lower right corner, press the System Setup icon. This will open up a window that can be used to adjust the brightness and several other parameters. In this window, you need to click Settings to open the full menu system. You want to make as much as three clicks to that occupied by, for example, Android 2.x only two clicks. While on the other hand, access to the most frequently used settings here too we can get from the second click.

Unpleasant is the fact that when you use third-party applications, for some applications, settings appear at the top of the screen, but for others – are already at the bottom. This causes inconvenience in use, as necessary to adapt to each specific application.

The biggest problem is the small number of applications for Honeycomb, although it should be taken into account the fact that the OS came out recently. The first tablet with Android 3.0 Honeycomb was released in late February, but after four months in the Android Market is located less than 300 applications that are specifically designed for tablets.

Although in most applications for Android-Smartphone will be scaled to work with a large display, some applications are forced to remain in a small window, while others look simply awful when a user tries to expand it to full screen on a device with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Many of them can not use the menus and other advantages of the new OS.

Some applications, such as Comixology, the Web browser Opera Mobile, Zinio, News360, as well as Google Earth look great on the Honeycomb. But many other applications are running very poorly.

Although Samsung has not introduced many changes to the standard suite of Android 3.1, the company is still adding a few extra touches. First, in addition to the new version of Google Music, tablet ships with Music Hub, this uses the method of storing Music Company 7digital.

There is also an application store Samsung Apps, which is now by no means, can compete with the official Android Market. Now Samsung Apps can please only quite a small number of applications, and there is no reason to use it instead of the Android Market. But the situation may change in future if Samsung will be able to interest developers or be able to offer some unusual solutions.

A cool thing we noticed in our Samsung Galaxy tablet 10.1 review is that it comes with a preinstalled Quick Office HD. This version of the popular application is for viewing, editing, and creating office documents. The application supports documents Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and can also be linked to the services cloud services such as Google Docs, Drop box or Mobile Me, so you can open the document or save your documents in an online store.

The only significant addition to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that we saw in our Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review is currently the Samsung keyboard. It has a much better design and functionality than the standard on-screen keyboard that comes with Android 3.1. This keyboard has a dedicated button for smileys , Caps Lock, and several buttons that are more convenient than a standard keyboard buttons.

According to journalist liliputing.com, this keyboard is inconvenient to use a blind entry. But he claims that he was able to type text faster on a standard keyboard.

There are keyboard settings for voice input, but this possibility does not seem to work. In the setting of the keyboard can be integrated into existing predictive text input XT9.

If you prefer to use a standard keyboard, android, it is still available. Simply tap the keyboard icon that appears next to the clock and select the keyboard you want to use.

Performance – Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 Review

Almost every tablet on Android 3.x Honeycomb, which is represented on the market today, has a dual-processor 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 and 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels. It is therefore reasonable to expect from these devices is almost the same performance. Galaxy Tab 10.1 is in many respects similar in performance with Motorola Xoom. Applications run fast, HD video played smoothly, web pages opened quickly. But these were just subjective feelings. When the tests have been conducted series, Galaxy Tab 10.1 shown in all areas of lower performance in comparison with the Motorola Xoom.

Part of the problem may lie in the tests themselves, because they tend to often have very specific algorithms work with scripts JavaScript, OpenGL rendering to calculate the CPU and graphics subsystem. Such tests can not objectively evaluate the overall performance of the device.

However, Xoom came forward in each test, although the gap was not usually significant.

Test Sun Spider JavaScript checks the speed of a standard Web browser for Android. For this test, the lower the number the better it is. The lower the score, the faster the device completes the test. In this case, Xoom was a bit faster than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Of course, the modern notebook or netbook would have shown much better results, but all the same plates showed better results than most Smartphone.

NenaMark - this is a test schedules. When Motorola Xoom is running Android 3.0.1, the tablet scored 27.8 frames per second, but Android 3.1 with improved support for hardware acceleration Xoom gets 35 frames per second. Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab scored at least 30 frames per second, although it has the same processor and same operating system. This may be due to the lack of optimization specifically for the tablet.

Quadrant is a test for overall performance. Xoom has shown in him as the best result with the new version, as well as with the old firmware version. Consequently, it has better hardware performance.

Test Linpack for dual core processors was not available for Xoom, when carried out to test it. Galaxy Tab tablet scored 53.77 points on this test. But the result is not something to compare.

In daily use, a new tablet from Samsung is very fast. In the test results can be questioned, especially when you consider that they are based on a simplified algorithm performance analysis, which simply can not match the actual use of the tablet.

But the author of this review was listed for a very essential for everyday use Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tab problem: screen rotation. When you move the tablet from portrait to landscape or vice versa in the tablet, the screen redraws. It takes about two seconds, one second more than it spends Smartphone Google Nexus, which was released about 18 months, and that’s running Google Android 2.3.4 .Although it should be borne in mind that the Smartphone is much smaller screen resolution, and increase the screen resolution requires much more computing power.

Conclusion – Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 Review

On the market 10-inch Tablet Android-all flagship devices do not differ. Most of them have a dual core processor NVIDIA Tegra 2 and a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Some of them are still running the Google Android 3.0, while others are already using Android 1/3. But in terms of overall performance, they are almost identical.

Although the tablet we saw in our Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 review now may still be the best 10-inch Android-tablet on the market, because it has several advantages. Tablet from Samsung is thinner and lighter than any other 10.1-inch tablet, which is now sold. Also device has an attractive minimalist design that will appeal to many buyers.

However, this tablet can stand out among competitors not only good looks. Samsung sets on Galaxy Tab 10.1 a few custom applications that significantly improve the usability of the tablet. In the near future the company plans to complete work on a version of the user interface Touch Wiz, which will be optimized for use on Google Android 3.x.

But still there are also disadvantages. For example, the device lacks functions that exist in some of its competitors. For example, a memory card slot and a standard USB-port.

An Ethernet card is used to create a network, whether home or office when you have more than one computer and want to communicate with them, or connect to the same ISP (Internet service provider ).

In a home network, chances are great and we can take advantage of the benefits of a network of high speed wiring, using only Internet access and sharing among all PC’s. We will have created a fast, reliable LAN to share files, information, data and network play at breakneck speeds.

For decades, Ethernet has proven network solution is cheaper and more popular for business and enterprise. Ethernet technology allow Ethernet card and cables to connectcomputers, workstations and servers of any brand and model.

To connect an Ethernet card or cable to a computer, people typically use a network adapter, also known as NIC ( Network Interface Card ).

Then, the network cards will “talk” with the PC’s internal system and cables, will transfer the data to the computer which is connected.

Once you’re sure to install a computer network in your home or office, you need to know how to put it all work.

What type of cables you need? What kind of tools? Normally, when you hire your Internet connection, access the network through a modem or router . If the second case, you need a crossover cable and a computer network card. If the router has four Ethernet inputs, then you can connect four PCs. What happens if I have more computers? Then it gives you the possibility to use a hub, which is hardware device with many “mouths” or Ethernet connectors (8.12 or 24) and a single connection to the router.

If you simply want to connect two or more computers together without Internet access, of course it is viable. You will still have a high speed local network and fully operational.

Network cables are just crossed and called on both ends in a connector called RJ45.

The quality of cable is determined by an assessment called CAT or category . The most common cable is Category 5. The most traditional form, it’s on crossover cables is 10Base-T, which uses UTP ( unshielded twisted pair ).

As mentioned, if we want to connect many computers each have to use an Ethernet card or hub or switch to “talk” to them.

There is the possibility of buying a USB adapter to Ethernet card, which can be an alternative and very easy to install.

Once you have bought network cards, cables, or hubs as you have designed your network, you only have to place the PC’s where it deems appropriate, pull the wires that bind them and assign the IP addresses accordingly. This you can do in an afternoon without much effort.

We agree that the DVD player is outdated, but progress does not stand still in this area manufacturers are also trying to have something to surprise. New from Samsung, a Blu-Ray player called the Samsung BD-D5300K, of which is what we are talking about today is worth $ 200 – as well as a decent DVD-players 3-4 years ago. But it has a much larger set of functions and for the same money will get more buyers. In addition, in fact, play DVD and Blu-Ray discs, Samung BD-D5300K reads files from USB drives and flash drives-goes to the Internet, allows you to play games and use applications and, finally, help to sing karaoke at a party. But most importantly – it’s amazing quality and detail is thanks to the Full HD. An impressive collection, is not it? So let’s take a closer look at him.

The first acquaintance – Samsung BD-D5300K

Feast of minimalism and pragmatism. As well as economically. This impression one gets when they first see the Samsung BD-D5300K. About the design we can say that it is traditional, nothing flashy about it. As there are no other players in their comparable value. Engineers should be commended for what has turned out compact player and messing gloss used to a minimum. Thanks to the traditional design, the player visually fit into the rack with the equipment. It’s also nice that the remote control is made traditionally for AV-electronics.

<img src="http://technoportal.ua/img/reviews/193/samsung1.jpg" alt="Samsung BD-D5300K"width="500" height="330" />

The set of interfaces does not possess a variety, but there are necessities of life, and a pair of nice bonuses. The HDMI port to connect to LCD televisions and plasma. A composite output will replace him if the player gets to the village to the grandfather, where even in the ranks the old TV sets. Optical output is useful for audio output on your receiver. And if not, will have to settle for a standard analog stereo.

It is noteworthy that, like many media players, there are Ethernet -input for connecting to a wired network, and even port to connect to a corporate Wi-Fi -adapter. Well, no port USB, of course, in 2011, not quite nothing. Oh and for dessert we have two inputs for connecting microphones karaoke with individual volume controls.

Check in combat – Samsung BD-D5300K

Key innovations, apart from unusual for Blu-Ray players, USB and Ethernet, raised “stuffing” the player.Fashionable trend in the world now TV – Smart TV – and raised the players and home theater. And the Samsung BD-D5300K got one of them. So this player is paired with any TV will provide the same features as the hottest new Samsung features from 2011. I am glad that the firmware is updated through the device and the Internet is likely that functionality will be expanded. Furthermore: With this player you can take advantage of Smart TV and TV on the Samsung, in which this feature was not originally envisaged.

So, let’s see what opportunities for us today in store for the Korean craftsmen. When the player is connected to the TV, on his menu is displayed, performed in a contemporary style with spacious and beautiful items. Among them access to devices connected via USB, settings, content sources in the local network and the envelope Smart Hub, which is, in fact, turn your TV Smart TV. In the Smart Hub is available in the app store Samsung Apps, where you can free download various games and applications. Note for customers access to popular resources (among them the Russian Tvigle.ru, Gismeteo and “Sport-Express” and a few foreign ones) and social networks (Facebook and Twitter). The choice of such programs, while not great, but Samsung promises to increase range. It remains to add that interface to applications for Smart TV was adapted for the big screen, so the information is read comfortably from a few meters. It is a pity that there is no browser, so surf on the TV screen would have to connect your computer. The module with the speaker called Search All responsible for finding information on YouTube, Facebook, etc. And AllShare technology allows you to broadcast content , reproducible player to other devices with DLNA support for Wi-Fi (need to connect to the player adapter). Watch videos downloaded from the network, computer or media player, very easy and convenient. And, most importantly, do not pay for the discs. This argument leads opponents of Blu-Ray players. And, in general, they are right. But it is not the case with the Samsung BD-D5300K, because he also can play video files from USB-drives and network sources. View new movie with a stick or external hard drive is as easy as the media player. Connect the drive, selecting the file in the “Explorer” and look. And as befits a HD-quality. A wide list of supported formats and codecs (DivX, Xvid, MKV, WMV, MPEG 4, etc.) will watch almost everything, including online video.

Summary – Samsung BD-D5300K

The Samsung BD- D5300K is not very expensive, but has substantial functional, and the quality of his work is difficult to find fault. We think that the DVD, and even more so – Blu-Ray players are still very relevant to those who have accumulated a good collection of CDs, or those who still prefer to buy movies (maybe not all, of course, but my favorite). Nice bonuses, which also should not be discounted – the shell Smart Hub (with which even old TV will become “smarter”), and playback of content in popular formats with the USB-drives. Media players with Blu-Ray drive is a rarity and they cost more than the Samsung BD-D5300K. Well, karaoke, though not a favorite pastime of all, probably also please some customers, especially those who likes to have fun with friends.

However, the company has played a spectator of the rise of smartphones and tablets in recent years. These mobile devices use chips based on designs licensed by ARM company, based in theUK, ensuring the efficiency performance of small, compact and powerful devices need.

Intel is about to enter the fray.

Last week, Another technology site, Technology Review, tested prototypes of smart phones and tablets equipped with the latest Intel mobile chip, called Medfield, and the Android operating system created by Google. “We hope that this configuration based products are announced in the first half of 2012,” said Stephen Smith, vice president of Intel’s architecture group.

Known as “reference designs”, the devices are sent to inspire and instruct manufacturers interested in building products based on Intel’s latest technology. “They can use the amount of reference design that you want, how you like it,” said Smith, who hinted that the Consumer Electronics Show (International Fair of Consumer Electronics) could announce next January which devices will carry the chips of Intel.

The Medfield is the latest in its line of mobile chips “Atom”. So far none have seriously threatened the dominance of ARM-based chips in mobile devices, partly because they consume more energy. However, the new chip technology represents an important step towards better performance.

Atom previous designs the processor spread across two or three chips, a relatively intensive schedule in terms of energy whose origin goes back many years ago in the Intel PC chips. However, today the company finally has combined the basic functions of your processor designs in a single piece of silicon. “This is the first time that really offer a single chip,” says Smith. The all in one, known as “system on a chip ‘, is a standard feature of ARM chips, ubiquitous smart phones today.

The prototype phone seen by another technology site, Technology Review, was similar in dimensions to the iPhone 4, but significantly lighter, probably because the case was made with more plastic and less glass and metal. Version running Google’s operating system included in most current Android phone, known as Gingerbread. A more recent version, Ice Cream Sandwich, was launched by Google just a month ago.

The phone was powerful and pleasant to use, along with the latest iPhone and Android phones. Quality video could play Blu-Ray and transfer it to a TV. In addition, Internet browsing was quick and easy. Smith explains that Intel has created Medfield chip circuits specifically to accelerate Android applications and web browsing.

The rumors about the possibility that Apple is working on producing its own TV, which some call ‘iTV’-ever is greater. According to according to several industry sources at Digitimes website , the ‘smart TV’ Apple would be a television with a screen of 37 or 32 inches, and would be launched during the second or third quarter of 2012.

Thanks to the relative success of the Apple TV device on the market as the second generation model reached one million units sold in 2010 and it is estimated that in 2011 reached 4 million , sources close to Apple say the company is looking for the best way to exploit their potential.

Digitimes also reported that Samsung and Sharp manufacture chips and screens of Apple’s iTV ‘,respectively, while other sources said three Asian companies would dispute this semiconductor manufacturing.Meanwhile, citing industry sources, the medium said that Foxconn Electronics, the same firm that joins the iPhone and other Apple devices, would be most likely responsible for assembling the TV company.

Although this information is based on unofficial sources, Digitimes is the way most respected Asian electronics and computing issues, and has a good record of disclosures in the industry that have materialized.

In addition, a few weeks ago Apple executives have been meeting with leaders of some media to discuss his vision for the future of television.
In addition, during meetings of Apple executives referred to technologies capable of responding to the voices and movements of users, which could allow them to use your voice to look up a program or change channels.

“If Apple is also entering the market for Web TV , go into the manufacturing of televisions, would be able to win against market value as large companies like Sony, Samsung and Philips, and could increase its market capitalization between $ 50,000 and 100,000 million dollars, “ said USB analyst Maynard Um Investment Research to the site AppleInsider .

Apple would not be the only company that would be taken by assault the promising market of ‘smart TV’, now dominated by traditional giants Sony, Samsung, LG, Sharp, Philips and Panasonic. In fact, Google has already taken important steps with Google TV , but the expectation around is that Apple could get on television that in 2007, achieved with the iPhone, also in a field in which he had no experience.

Rovi Roxio Game Capture is intended to solve an old problem for the players: how to preserve this pleasant moment of victory. The Game Capture ($ 100) is a package that includes software and hardware, and is designed to help you record your adventures when you play on your PC or console, but falls short.

Installation is relatively simple. It is a USB powered external device to capture video, so all you do is connect a USB cable to your PC, plug the audio cables and components for video game console in the box to capture and then connect the box to the TV. System requirements are announced quite a few (Windows XP, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GHz, a DirectX 9.0 graphics card and 2GB of RAM), so your PC does not have to be a beast game to use the Roxio package.

The accompanying application is a simple video capture: it has a preview window and some adjustments that you can handle, such as video encoding (AVI, DIVX, WMV) and the default location to save the material, you can also view statistics basic storage that does not fill your hard drive unexpectedly and a big button to start or stop recording.

The capture hardware is equally sober. Although you can capture video in high definition formats, 480p output only. In addition, HDMI cables can not only allows the video to component cable.

Separately, Roxio Game Capture device worked perfectly as video input for other video applications.

The kit is used to capture and share the results of the games, but is not as user friendly as it should, nor is it cheap enough for what he does.

The latest version of Mozilla Firefox has become the topic of improving performance, increasing the execution speed of JavaScript and announced a 30 percent performance increase in web sites that make heavy use of them. Van just six weeks since he was released Firefox 8, but version 9, which has just reached beta before the release of next week, continues the evolution of the browser with a number of improvements mostly hidden. The main improvement this time is the incorporation of technology type inference SpiderMonkey JavaScript engine in Firefox, basically, a way to automatically optimize the code that powers the JIT compiler. Sites with lots of JavaScript should see a significant benefit, although we found, after the SunSpider benchmarking, which barely reached 10 percent improvement over version 8. The most expensive, but more dramatically, to improve computation-intensive activities, such as JavaScript in a PC, it is still buying a more powerful CPU. Most of the other improvements are marginal except for Apple users get better support for themes and navigation with two fingers to OS X Lion. On the subject of the execution of JavaScript, developers are now able to check the “Not follow”-DoNotTrack status – in addition to providing enhanced support for HTML5, CSS and MathML. Version 9 comes at a time of great challenges for a browser, once rated the clear favorite of fans of technology. Last week, Google Chrome StatCounter said that had become the second browser behind IE, a position it had been for a long time Firefox. A study sponsored by Accuvant Google recently gave up the crown to your browser Chrome in part because of its “strengthened” JavaScript compiler, JIT.
